The Rallye

The Rallye Aicha des Gazelles celebrates its 20th Anniversary in 2010.  The  rally is a grueling nine-day competition for women competitors only.  After competing in 2009, it truly is the ultimate reality show.

The rally is internationally known for three components -

-Competition - no GPS allowed and no pace notes. We navigate by compass and 1950s maps.  It is a serious competition that combines technical driving skills with the utmost test of navigation abilities.

-Humanitarian Efforts - Medical Caravan providing approximately 5000 medical treatments per rally.  The Picala Project - providing bicycles to those in need to access jobs and education and the Orphanage project.

-Environmental Efforts - The Gazelle is a carbon neutral rally in cooperation with ActionCarbone.org.  The rally enforces the highest emission standards of vehicles, imposes an “environmental charter” for all competitors, and provides an environmental impact report on the rally.
